Showing Up Online – Why, Where and How of Social Media

The Internet and social media provide amazing opportunities to engage with the world, share ideas, participate in discussions and be visible to current and prospective clients.  They also raise a lot of questions about how to use them effectively:

• Why use social media?

• What content do you want to share with the world?

• What are the best forums to establish your online presence?

• What are the advantages and drawbacks of different sites?

• How can you save time and avoid being ‘chained’ to your social media updating?

We have two great speakers joining us in January, both of whom have deep backgrounds in marketing and the use of social media.

Josh Carnes is Director of Marketing at Lion Consulting.  He specializes in business marketing and strategic marketing campaigns and has expertise in Search Engine Optimization, Content Marketing and Internet Marketing strategies.   As a speaker and trainer Josh helps individuals and organizations strategically leverage the Internet. 

Nicole Torres-Cooke of Schmooze Networking is the “Queen of Schmooze and Lover of Shoes”. 
Her company caters to small business, real estate and women owned businesses with social media management and training, networking events and event planning. She also conducts training classes and speaks to groups around Central Texas. Nicole is also founder of Shoesisters, a worldwide online community and co-founder of Texas Charity Angels, who assist non-profits with online event promotion.

Whether a coach or not, everyone is welcome to attend our meetings. The following fees cover activities and meeting costs:

• Austin ICF Chapter members – Free
• Non-local, but National ICF Chapter members -- $10
• Non-members and Guests -- $15
