MARCH MONTHLY MEETING

Coaching Toward Emotional Effectiveness

Emotional Intelligence has emerged as an important component of professional and personal success. As coaches, we help our clients identify areas where they may struggle to align their behaviors in support of their goals. What if there were a sort of "road map" to building the skills needed to foster our desired behaviors?

In this session we'll look at how emotional skill gaps show up and explore some ways we can partner with our clients to help them discover their emotional strengths and opportunities. Understanding specific skills that contribute to emotional effectiveness can provide a clear path our clients can use to target development for essential emotional skills.

We will identify practical ways to support clients' awareness of their emotional competencies and techniques to foster balance as they move toward their desired outcomes.

Learning Objectives

  • Gain knowledge of accessible language you can use to introduce coaching clients to skills essential for emotional effectiveness.
  • Explore the structure and components of the EQ-i 2.0 Model of Emotional Intelligence, created by Reuven Bar-On, as a tool to discuss EQ with your coaching clients.
  • Know an effective approach to pair with active listening with coaching clients who wish to become more emotionally effective.
  • Practice powerful questioning to help clients build awareness of their emotional skill strengths and gaps.
