“Coaching to me has been a journey, a journey of repeated reflection on what matters. I learned early on engaging within this coaching field –– and in coaching itself –– there was something to look forward to as results with clients were delivered, over and over, for me that was growthful, as well. It has never become ‘work’ for me. Being both a coach and part of an international industry, always personally challenging, has managed to simultaneously refuel me."
Enjoy a discussion with Michelle Hefner, editor, and Sherry Lowry, chapter author, to discuss the first chapter of the book created by ICF Greater Austin coaches for coaches everywhere.
Mini-Bio: Seven times entrepreneur, Sherry Lowry is a coach strategist and mentoring collaborator. Her main clients are owners/founders, company high potentials and a small collective of continuously evolving coaches.
A primary interest is catalyzing the talented to become leaders-of-self first and at whatever their operational level. She finds once self-managed and self-led, the whole room stops to listen when they speak. Their own best ideas become actively pursued and received as they elevate others.
A Houston native, she moved to Austin, Texas as soon as she could in 2002. Her businesses have ranged from solo entrepreneur to founding a 501(c)3, which her staff of eight and two hundred volunteers helped grow to 20,000 clients.
A committed gardener who loves the kitchen, she finds pure pleasure in sharing those results as well as those of her professional training. These days discovering she has a creative nonfiction voice, and one that still surprises her, has led her into a deep dip into the study and writing of literary craft, including personal essays and short and flash fiction.
