FEBRUARY MONTHLY MEETING

Two for one; don't miss it!

February’s meeting is certain to provide something of value for everyone that attends and this month we are drawing from the wealth of knowledge that resides within our very own ICF-Greater Austin chapter.

Session 1

During the first 30-40 minutes of our meeting we will be exploring Powerful Questioning and Effective Coaching.  Chapter member Teresa Bitner will challenge us to dig deeper into the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Core Competencies on Powerful Questions. During this interactive session, you will learn the characteristics of powerful questions, strategies for using them effectively, and we will look to review a few of the associated models. Lastly, we will practice these skills using the ICF Competency markers on Powerful Questions with each other.

Session 2

During the second half of the meeting, our own Marilyn Orr will tackle a segment on Team and/or Group Coaching. Whether it’s a corporate team or a wellness retreat, skills for coaching groups are incredibly beneficial. Although your normal coaching tools are certainly relevant, there are a few other tools we will explore that will also come in handy with teams and groups. This session will also be very experiential with a chance to learn from a few models as well as to learn a lot from each other. We will break in to groups and practice different coaching circle techniques with the time we have remaining.

So roll up your sleeves and come ready to engage with new skills and one another, as we sharpen our tools and strengthen our competencies together. In addition earn 1.5 CCEUs.

Come early:

Jim Parker will be conducting a Q&A on Building a Successful Coaching Practice at 6 pm before the meeting formally begins. Jim is a successful MCC credentialed coach and a member of our ICF-Austin chapter.
