THE CHALLENGE OF ONE

Scaling a business can be challenging for the one-person, professional service provider.

How, when services are generally delivered and paid for on an hourly basis, can a skilled professional increase his or her revenues without also correspondingly increasing their work hours?

How can a professional’s expertise work independently for him or her, while they’re busy with another project or on vacation?

Peg Richmond, Sr. Business Advisor with the Texas State Small Business Development Center, leads a discussion about what it means to scale your business and how to get started.

About our speaker Peg Richmond:

Peg Richmond helps guide business owners to achieve greater success and more profitability.  She specializes in business development, strategic marketing, financial analysis and technology commercialization activities.

Prior to joining the SBDC, Richmond owned her own strategic marketing and communications consulting firm. Her clientele ranged from pre-venture and small organizations in energy, staffing, retail and consumer-packaged goods to a multi-million dollar division within a Fortune 1000 utility technology company. As an independent consultant, Peg led branding and proposal activities which earned her customers more than $30M new business.

Peg holds an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University as well as a Master of Arts in Advertising and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas.

Funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
